Westonbirt Arboretum is a wonderful world of trees. There are over 18,000 of them from all over the world, planted from 1829 to the present day, producing 600 acres of beautifully landscaped Cotswold countryside. Visitors to Westonbirt can wander where they please along 17 miles of waymarked trails or simply sit in a leafy glade and admire some of the tallest, oldest and indeed the rarest trees and shrubs of their kind in the world.
Time and again our visitors remark on the peace and tranquillity to be found amongst the trees and associated wildlife. Birds, badgers and deer can all be glimpsed from time to time. It is truly an escape from the turmoil of modern day life. Visit once and you will want to visit again, after all there is a whole world to discover at Westonbirt.

However, Westonbirt in winter can be magical, particularly when seen on a cold frosty day or after a light fall of snow, with the conifers and brightly coloured stems of Cherries, Birches and Dogwoods taking centre stage. |
| Even on hot summer days what could be better than relaxing in a secluded leafy glade, or taking a stroll down Lime Avenue amidst the butterflies and bees busy collecting nectar? | ![]() |
Westonbirt is open 365 days a year, so you can choose exactly when to visit, or try different seasons. You will not be disappointed.
