THE MODA HOTEL

| This exceptionally pleasant hotel, owned and run by Pauline and Jeff Pullin, stands at the top of the High Street dominating the wide town centre. Over 300 years old, this Georgian building was originally a banker's home, one of the first to publish bank notes as the "Bank of Chipping Sodbury". One of these notes is still in existence in a London bank museum. In more recent times, the building was the home of the Grace family whose most famous son, the cricketer, W.G. Grace, was recently nominated for Sportsman of the Millennium. |
| The hotel is
decorated in a simple, very English manner with little extravagance in colour or material.
The result is a cosy and inviting atmosphere of friendliness without the gauche
extravagances of many modern hotels. Relaxing in the natural warmth of old England, that still permeates the building, one will often have the impression of an exclusive country club. The ease of shopping is also a major convenience when staying at the Moda. All of Chipping Sodbury is outside the door, and the town can be walked round quite comfortably without the hotel being once out of sight! Also, of course, the Cotswold Hills and the open English countryside is only minutes away. Here is an excellent choice for the regular traveller or holiday tourist. |
