| Consistently popular with business
people, holiday makers and week-end breakers alike, the Imperial is nothing if not
convenient. Located adjacent to Stroud's main-line railway station, there are direct links
to London's Paddington and all points west, plus the rest of the country. From the moment
you arrive the Imperial wraps you in its warmth and friendliness. "It's a hotel
with a history spanning nearly 200 years and the gentle manners to match," is how one
contented resident described it. The Imperial is only 10 minutes from the M5 motorway and 30 minutes from the M4, giving wide access by car to the country's motorway network. And then again, the hotel is a perfect base to explore some of England's most beautiful countryside, in particular the famous and local Strad Valley. Each of the 25 bedrooms is tastefully furnished - all with en suite bathrooms. In addition every room has colour television, direct dial telephone, trouser press and facilities for making hot drinks. For a romantic interlude, or perhaps your wedding night, there are two four-poster bedrooms. The hotel is presently undegoing a full refurbishment. This will not, however, inconvenience their guests. The owners were also at pains to emphasise the hotel's flexibility. With 11 twin rooms, 7 doubles, 3 family rooms and 2 singles, just about every contingency can be met. Cots can also be provided. There are bar snacks with a menu that would not shame many a restaurant's table, with an excellent variety of baguettes and sandwiches generously cut and made with locally baked bread. There are delicious Jacket Potatoes with a variety of fillings. Until further notice, the main estaurant is open to residents only. ROOM TARIFF Single Room
