Colin Gee, the proprietor, has been buying Provincial furniture in Northern France for the past ten years and through his contacts has built up a network of suppliers who seek out and pass on the best there is to him. They know the criteria that Colin applies to all his purchases - they must have style, originality and quality. As some of the items come straight from the farmhouse where they have been happily sitting for the past 200 years, there is sometimes a need for sympathetic restoration, and Colin's restorers know exactly how far to go to enhance the original patination.The stock is displayed over three floors and clients can quite easily find the dream armoire or buffet they are looking for and even, if the mood takes the, find items for the whole house, from fruitwood farm tables and sets of chairs, to pretty bedside cupboards. There is also a large selection of chandeliers and wall sconces, together with mirrors ranging from decorative giltwood to 18th century French painted. And recently, Colin has introduced more sophisticated French furniture more suitable for a town-house than a rural retreat.
