The Bell Hotel

The Bell Hotel is located within a couple of minutes walk from the centre of the historical Gloucestershire town of Tewkesbury. The town, situated on the confluence of the Severn and Avon Rivers, boasts a full and active history going back more than a 1,000 years. Numerous battlefields are located nearby, but most famously is the scene of the Battle of Tewkesbury in which the Yorkists defeated the Lancastrians in 1471 during the War of the Roses. Close to the hotel there is also the Castle and Abbey, both of which are extremely popular with visitors.

The Bell is mainly an original Tudor building with much of the old oak still visible. It is not, however, stuck back in the dark ages when it comes to comfort and service.

All rooms are en-suite with the usual facilities, T.V., telephone etc, and many are rich in nostalgia.

The Bell offers an extensive all day menu. Ideal for busy travellers and holidaymakers whose schedules often make meeting with the normal routine too difficult.

The bar, of course, is also open all day.

The Bell's restaurant menu is predominantly English, but with many popular continental dishes also available. Prices are very reasonable, and with other entertainment, especially at weekends, is an ideal venue for a night out. In particular the House Speciality, Tewkesbury Lamb with potatoes and vegetables at £12.95, is a must. And last but not least, the Sunday Carvery with a main course at £7.55 is so popular it is always wise to book well in advance.

There is, of course, a huge selection of wines from around the world to accompany your meal.
